Project Homeless Connect
Project Homeless Connect is a national best practice that provides a “one stop shop” of services for people in need of help.  On December 4th, this one day event served 1300 individuals experiencing homelessness with the help of over 500 volunteers and 100 service providers. Click here for more information and to find out how to volunteer.

Twin Cities Public Television and the Family Housing Fund teamed up to create this documentary about our Project Homeless Connect event. This 19 minute film explains how Project Homeless Connect is so successful in connecting people experiencing homelessness to necessary services, as well as how it is so successful at engaging volunteers, donors, and faith communities. Our next Project Homeless Connect events are April 28th and December 8th, 2008. Visit www.homelessconnectminneapolis.org for more information on the event and how to get involved.

Gothriel (Fred) La Fleur
Assistant County Administrator - Criminal Justice, Hennepin County

“Increasingly, more people involved in the criminal justice system are finding themselves faced with the likelihood of homelessness. Criminal records, unemployment, chemical dependency, and mental illness are but a few of the barriers that prevent offender from securing stable and affordable housing. Poverty should not be a crime.”
