A non-profit leader for over nine years, Sorensen Navarre serves on the board of directors for Breaking Free, Alliance for Metropolitan Stability, Community Neighborhood Housing Services, and the Education and Housing Equity Project. She received national recognition for her work on bridging the differences between older and younger generations in public housing and an award in 1999 on Fair Housing Practices from the U.S. Department of Housing and Development. MICAH stands for Metropolitan Interfaith Council on Affordable Housing. Its mission is to bring together faith congregations to work on common policy issues.
